These days the importance of saving water is rapidly increasing.
Traditional cleaning of all types of reservoirs has typically required draining, with staff entering inside the reservoirs. This is no longer acceptable due to the safety risks for the staff as well as the unnecessary waste of water.
The alternative with divers is becoming less popular due to higher costs as well as divers automatically being “Hazardous” with respect to occupational health and safety. It is also difficult to ensure that 100% of the dive equipment (including full faced helmet and dry suit) are fully sterilised.
Remote underwater cleaners make it possible to clean reservoirs of all kinds and totally avoid human entry. This saves time and removes the risks associated with the contamination of drinking water.
The Robotic Vacuum is specifically designed for potable water reservoirs and reservoirs where access with larger cleaner is limited due to smaller man holes, limited space between pillars, and tighter spaces within the reservoir. It is remote controlled and equipped with a fixed mounted High Definition camera and lighting. The pumping is achieved by a 1.3kW submersible drainage pump with a capacity of up to 600 l/m.
The cleaner runs on 230V single phase, therefore there is no need for three phase connections. This, coupled with the fact that both the cleaner and the power control box can be carried by one operator, makes the robotic cleaner a very suitable cleaner for a large number of applications.
For applications in aggressive waters the aluminium casings can be protected by anodizing and epoxy coating.
Typical applications include small to medium sized potable water reservoirs and smaller tanks.
